Frequently Asked Questions.

Everything you need to know about how our AI infrastructure actually works — from the raw API level to what you experience day-to-day.

The Technology

How does StoreMind actually connect to my Shopify store?

We authenticate directly with Shopify's Admin API using OAuth. Once authorized, we have server-to-server access across 8 operational domains — Products, Orders, Customers, Inventory, CMS, Themes, Navigation, and Redirects. That's 50 total operations, all executed via direct GraphQL and REST API calls. No middleware, no polling delays, no Zapier in between.

Is this just Zapier with a different skin?

Not even close. Zapier uses static 'if-this-then-that' triggers that poll your store every 5–15 minutes and break the moment something unexpected happens. StoreMind deploys an LLM orchestration layer directly into your store's backend. When an event fires, our AI reads the entire state of your store, reasons about the best action, and executes it. It's not a workflow — it's an autonomous operations manager.

How fast does StoreMind react to store events like new orders?

Milliseconds. We configure dedicated HTTP webhook endpoints that Shopify pushes raw JSON payloads to in real-time — events like orders/create, inventory_levels/update, and more. Your Zapier workflow takes 15 minutes to poll for that same order. We process it before your customer's browser tab closes.

How does inventory management work technically?

We use atomic delta-adjustments — meaning we send relative changes (+5 units, -1 unit) instead of overwriting absolute values. This is race-condition safe. If two events hit simultaneously — say, an online sale and a manual in-store adjustment — Shopify handles the atomic lock on their end and neither update corrupts the other. Zero overselling. Zero phantom stock.

What happens if you hit Shopify's API rate limits during a big bulk operation?

We have a built-in Batch Operations Engine specifically for this. It accepts a queue of hundreds or thousands of operations, automatically spaces them out to respect Shopify's 40 requests/minute leaky bucket limit, and notifies you when the job completes. It's self-cleaning — the flow deletes itself after finishing. You just drop the task into chat and walk away.

How does StoreMind handle Shopify authentication?

We authenticate via OAuth once at onboarding — that's the last time you'll think about Shopify credentials. Our infrastructure layer owns the entire access lifecycle from there: any required token refreshes are handled automatically, with no refresh worker to build, no expiry alerts to monitor, and no surprise reconnect emails ever sent to your merchants. The kind of auth handling usually reserved for the largest Shopify apps, available immediately.

Do you store my Shopify credentials?

Your Shopify password never touches StoreMind — we authenticate exclusively through OAuth, the same standard every approved Shopify app uses. Beyond that, we don't persist long-lived static access tokens in our application database. The OAuth grant happens once at onboarding, and our infrastructure layer manages the access lifecycle from there — including any required token rotation. We minimize the long-lived credential exposure typical of third-party Shopify integrations.

What We Can Control

Can you edit my actual storefront design and code?

Yes. We have direct read/write access to your live Liquid template files, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON config files — in any theme. We can push promotional banners for a flash sale, inject SEO-optimized code, swap your live theme entirely, or update your CMS pages autonomously. No developer login required on your end.

Can StoreMind create products and orders automatically?

Full CRUD on both. For products, we can create, update, tag, categorize, and generate AI-written SEO descriptions. For orders, we can programmatically create wholesale orders, custom invoices, and draft orders from a raw spreadsheet or email. Send us a PDF from a wholesale buyer and we'll have live orders built in Shopify before you finish reading it.

Can you manage my blog and written content too?

Yes. We have full access to Shopify's CMS engine — both static pages and blog articles. We can generate AI-written blog articles with SEO metadata, publish product launch announcements, and update page content — all pushed directly to your live store without touching your dashboard.

What can't StoreMind do yet?

We're transparent about our current gaps. We do not yet support: voice-note commands (text and image commands work), reading scanned-image PDFs (typed/digital PDFs parse fine), or pulling Shopify's native analytics dashboards — though we build richer reporting ourselves from your raw order, cost, and ad data: real per-product margins, sell-velocity forecasting, and ad performance. Everything else across the Shopify Admin API — products, variants, orders, full and partial refunds, discount codes, fulfillment, and financials — is fully live across 12 operational domains.

Setup & Onboarding

How long does setup take?

The Integration tier (existing Shopify stores) is typically live in 24 hours — we connect the OAuth, configure your webhook endpoints, and wire up your automation logic. The Foundation Build (new store from scratch) takes 1–2 weeks. The Elite Migration (moving from WooCommerce, Wix, etc.) is a custom project typically 2–4 weeks depending on data complexity.

Will this disrupt my live store while you're setting it up?

No. We build and test all automation logic in a sandboxed environment before any of it touches your live store. Your customers will never notice. We only flip the switch once everything has been thoroughly tested and you've approved the configuration.

Do I need technical knowledge to use StoreMind?

None at all. You interact with StoreMind through a simple chat interface. You say 'retag all Nike products with the summer-2026 label' or 'create an order for this wholesale buyer' and the system handles the raw API execution behind the scenes. If you can run a Shopify store, you can use StoreMind.

Pricing & Service

What does the $530/mo actually cover?

It covers the entire infrastructure cost of running your dedicated AI orchestration node — the compute, the active webhook endpoints, the Batch Operations Engine, the rate-limit management, and the ongoing AI context about your specific store's catalog, customers, and order history. It replaces Zapier ($150+/mo), a VA ($1,500+/mo), and multiple Shopify app subscriptions — all in one flat rate with zero per-action fees.

Is there a long-term contract?

No long-term contracts. The monthly service fee is month-to-month. If you cancel, you keep your fully built Shopify store — but your AI automation endpoints, webhook listeners, and batch operation infrastructure are disconnected.

What if something breaks at 2am?

Critical failures on webhook endpoints, batch operations, and API connections trigger automated alerts to our team. Most transient issues self-recover automatically. For anything that needs hands-on attention, your response-time commitment is documented in your service agreement — current targets reflect a focused founding-cohort operations team. As we scale, we're investing in expanded 24/7 on-call coverage.
